"Grow up, Study hard and you'll have a bright future."
That's what they say. They promise you a happy, colourful well lit future if you study. Yet what they don't tell you is that you'll question so much about all these things you do. They make a cooperate life sound so alluring but what they don't tell you is that cooperate life is way too materialistic.
Sometimes I wonder if it's really worth getting a bachelors. Getting a degree and getting "educated". Have so much education and you end up having to do things that you don't enjoy because of this responsibility you didn't really sign up for. Responsibility that comes to you because of your qualification and experiences.
I have never understood people who work to have more money. I work cause I really enjoy the work. I just need enough money to get me thru this life and the rest never really mattered. The only reason why I would want to have more money is to send myself thru med school. LOL.
I don't want to be in the cooperate world but I can't seem to get out of it as well. I just want to be in a career where I get to help people and earn enough to keep myself warm and free from hunger. Yet this seems so extremely difficult especially in a world where everyone is so materialistic and the aim of doing something is just to generate more income.
We aim to live in a world where everyone could work less and be happier yet the stuff we do makes us work more and feel more depressed.
Why don't companies hire more people so that everyone gets to do less work? Wait, that would generate less income. Why not pay them lesser then? & it shouldn't just be the lower ranking jobs. Why can't management jobs be the same? Instead of one person with sole responsibility, having a team allows each person to do lesser work and more people having an ability to keep themselves warm. Yet because we live in a world where not everyone wants to JUST keep themselves warm, we live in a world where people want more than just keeping themselves hunger free, we face this ugly picture of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. We rather pay one person 4k to do the job than two person 2k each. Even if we do, no one would want the 2k job because why would they do so if they might be able to be paid 4k? Also, since I hate my job and I'm not paid as well, then maybe I should put in less effort cause my effort doesn't bring me much gratification anyways.
Nothing is uglier than human's own greediness and lack of gratification and appreciation. Everyone is so obsessed about being "successful" no one really cares if the job they do brings joy anymore. On certain days, I really just feel like I should just give up this path and be a cafe waitress, or a retail sales person instead and forget about being "successful" in life. Cause those jobs makes me feel happier and more productive than being stuck here in an office staring at a computer screen wondering what else could I do.
